There’s been some serious drama between two popular Kenyan influencers; Director Trevor and Mungai Eve after Trevor publicly criticized Eve’s recent interview with Simon Kabu, the CEO of Bonfire Adventures.
The interview, which aired at the Bonfire Adventures end-of-year party, focused on Kabu's personal life, particularly the ongoing issues in his marriage to Sarah Kabu.
Director Trevor, a professional in the field, did not hold back when he took to his Instagram to voice his displeasure with the interview.
According to him, Eve crossed the line by asking questions that were unprofessional and embarrassing.
He described the conversation as lacking objectivity and called for an apology, even suggesting that the interview should be redone.
"The interviewer (Mungai Eve) crossed the line, it was unprofessional, embarrassing, and lacked objectivity.
They should publicly apologize and redo the interview properly. Simon is truly a patient man," he wrote in his Instagram post.
Mungai Eve, however, wasn’t about to stay silent. In her response, she welcomed both positive and negative criticism, stating that it’s all part of her journey.
"Love to see my work out there, I welcome both negative and positive criticism.
Been in this for 4 years and everything I do must trend lol! It’s my work to ensure you guys talk about me and I love it," she said.
Eve went on to encourage her followers to focus more on their own craft rather than criticizing others for relevance.
But that wasn’t the end of it. Mungai Eve subtly fired back at her ex, Director Trevor, with a post showing her wearing a top that read, "My ex is my biggest fan."
The post, which was accompanied by the caption “Mnapenda uchokozi sana” (You love provoking so much), seemed to add fuel to the fire, suggesting that the tension between them was far from over.
As expected, the back-and-forth between the two influencers quickly went viral on social media, with many netizens chiming in.
Some agreed with Trevor’s assessment of the interview, calling it unprofessional, while others defended Eve, saying that it’s common in the entertainment industry for interviews to stir up controversy.
