Former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has strongly denied rumors claiming he is a “deadbeat dad” and reaffirmed his commitment to his children.
The accusations came from a woman who alleged that Wamalwa had abandoned her and their son, who was born in 2003.
Speaking on the Iko Nini podcast, Wamalwa addressed these serious claims, setting the record straight about his role as a father.
Wamalwa stated that, regardless of the circumstances surrounding his children’s birth, he takes full responsibility for them.
He emphasized that he has never turned his back on his children and has always been present in their lives.
This statement came in direct response to the woman’s allegations, which had cast doubt on his commitment as a parent.
In the podcast interview, Wamalwa revealed that he had met both the woman and the young man who claims to be his son.
During this meeting, the possibility of conducting a DNA test was discussed, with Wamalwa expressing his willingness to provide support should the child be confirmed as his.
He made it clear that, if proven to be his child, he would be fully involved in his life and ensure he receives the necessary support.
Addressing the issue of education, Wamalwa also denied claims that he had refused to pay for the child’s schooling.
He strongly rejected these accusations, describing them as false.
According to Wamalwa, his actions have always been in the best interest of his children, and he has never neglected his responsibilities as father.
Wamalwa further explained that in his community, men are expected to care for all their children, regardless of whether they were born inside or outside marriage.
He stressed the importance of treating all children equally, without discrimination.
His statement signified his belief in the fundamental role of a father in supporting and providing for his children, no matter the circumstances.
