Human rights activist and lawyer, Okiya Omtatah, has come forward with details about the alleged abduction of Kibet Bull, a man who reportedly disappeared in Nairobi under mysterious circumstances.
Omtatah, known for his activism, is calling for justice and an investigation into the incident, which has raised alarm about safety in the country.
In his account, Omtatah said that Kibet Bull was last seen walking along Moi Avenue in Nairobi’s busy city center.
“He was just minding his business when a group of men approached him,” Omtatah recalled.
According to Omtatah, the men were dressed in plain clothes, but their actions seemed coordinated, giving the impression of an official operation.
Before Kibet could respond or even try to escape, Omtatah described how he was forced into a vehicle. “It was quick.
They grabbed him and threw him into the car like he was nothing,” Omtatah said.
Despite the public location and several witnesses around, no one seemed to be able to stop the abduction.
The activist described the situation as chaotic and troubling, with bystanders too shocked or afraid to intervene.
Since the alleged abduction, Kibet Bull’s family and friends have been left in the dark.
They have been unable to get in touch with him, and their attempts to report the incident have led to little response.
Omtatah expressed his concern, stating, “We cannot allow this to happen in broad daylight, in front of many people. It's a violation of basic human rights.”
The activist is now urging the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate action.
“We need to know where Kibet is and why he was taken. This is a serious issue, and we must get to the bottom of it,” Omtatah insisted.
The case has sparked debate about the growing concerns of safety and the possible involvement of state agents in such abductions.
Omtatah is not backing down and has vowed to keep pushing for Kibet Bull’s safe return.
“I will keep fighting for justice. Kibet deserves to be found, and we must ensure such things don’t happen again,” he concluded.
