DJ Joe Mfalme, a well-known figure in Kenya's entertainment scene, has taken to social media to clarify rumors suggesting that he performed at the 2024 Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The event, held on December 12 at Uhuru Gardens, featured a variety of Kenyan musicians and artists, but DJ Joe Mfalme was not one of them.
The confusion began when a user on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shared a list of performers from the Jamhuri Day celebrations.
Among the names mentioned was DJ Joe Mfalme, who, according to the post, had reportedly entertained attendees at the event.
However, the DJ quickly responded to set the record straight, refuting the claim.
In a direct message on social media, DJ Joe Mfalme stated, "So I’m at home, and you’re saying I’m at Uhuru Gardens?
Kindly remove my name from this post and verify the information before posting." He went on to emphasize the importance of verifying facts before spreading them.
The Jamhuri Day celebrations, which mark Kenya's independence, were graced by a variety of Kenyan artists, both new and legendary.
Among the artists who performed at the event were former Starehe MP Jaguar, Jua Cali, Mejja, and former boy band Kleptomaniax’s Collo.
Other performers included P-Unit trio, DNA, Madtraxx, and gospel stars like Esther Wahome and Daddy Owen.
The event was a vibrant celebration of Kenya’s rich musical culture and heritage, with attendees treated to powerful performances by these beloved local talents.
Despite the confusion, DJ Joe Mfalme, known for his impeccable DJ skills, was not part of the entertainment lineup.
This mix-up highlights how misinformation can easily spread on social media, especially when it involves public figures.
The DJ’s prompt response helped clear his name and avoid any further misunderstanding.
As a respected figure in the entertainment industry, DJ Joe Mfalme's clarification serves as a reminder for people to be cautious when sharing unverified information.
