On January 2, 2025, Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary, Alfred Mutua, made an exciting announcement for Mombasa residents.
He revealed that over 10,000 job opportunities are available for Kenyans looking to work in Dubai's construction sector.
This recruitment drive aims to give many Kenyans the chance to build successful careers abroad.
Speaking to the public, Mutua explained that the recruitment process will take place at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic in Mombasa on Friday, January 3, and Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The sessions will run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. "I encourage all interested candidates to come prepared with their certificates and any relevant documents," Mutua said.
He also emphasized the importance of bringing appropriate clothing for practical assessments during the recruitment.
For those who may not have passports, Mutua reassured that arrangements for expedited passport issuance would be made for successful candidates.
“If you don’t have a passport, don’t worry. We’ll ensure you get one quickly if you are selected,” he added.
Applicants who are chosen will receive offer letters immediately on the spot.
After the recruitment, there will be a three-day period dedicated to medical examinations and the processing of visas.
Once these steps are complete, the successful candidates will be ready for travel. Mutua highlighted that the job packages come with a generous offer.
"The salaries range between Ksh33,000 and Ksh60,000, and the employers in Dubai will provide free accommodation, meals, transport, and medical care," he said.
The opportunities are tax-free, making them even more attractive.
These benefits, along with the competitive pay, make this recruitment drive an excellent chance for Mombasa residents seeking better prospects abroad.
“This is a great opportunity for Mombasa residents and Kenyans at large to explore jobs abroad in the construction sector,” Mutua concluded.
