Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, reassured Kenyans about their safety, emphasizing that the government and police forces are working tirelessly to ensure a secure environment for all citizens.
"I want to let the people of Kenya know that they are safe," Kanja said, addressing growing concerns regarding security in various parts of the country.
He explained that the police are aware of the challenges Kenyans are facing and are stepping up efforts to protect them.
Kanja emphasized the importance of law enforcement agencies being visible in both urban and rural areas, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to incidents.
Kanja also made it clear that the police will not tolerate any form of criminal activity, and they are committed to taking action against lawbreakers.
"Our officers are out there ensuring that criminals do not have the freedom to harm or intimidate innocent citizens," he added.
Furthermore, the police chief called on the public to cooperate with security forces in the fight against crime.
"We need the support of every Kenyan. It’s through working together that we can build safer communities," he said.
Kanja encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the police, assuring them that their concerns will be taken seriously.
The announcement comes at a time when crime rates have been a topic of concern for many Kenyans.
The rising insecurity in some areas has led to fears among residents, prompting the government to intensify its focus on strengthening the police force.
Kanja’s words aim to restore public confidence in the police, as he stressed that their priority is to ensure the safety and security of all Kenyans.
He reassured the public that the authorities are determined to address any security challenges and protect people from harm.
"We are here to serve and protect every Kenyan," Kanja concluded, urging people to stay calm and trust in the efforts of the police to keep the country safe.
