Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung’wah, has called on Governor Amos Natembeya to share any information he may have about individuals behind the rising cases of abductions.
Ichung’wah emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to resolve the ongoing crisis.
Speaking to reporters, Ichung’wah said, “If Governor Natembeya has knowledge about the abductors, he should not hesitate to report it to the DCI.
This matter concerns the safety and security of our citizens, and any delay in action is unacceptable.”
The issue of abductions has caused widespread concern across the country.
Families have been left in fear, and many are demanding answers from both local and national leaders.
The abductions, reportedly targeting both adults and children, have created panic, especially in areas that have experienced multiple cases.
Ichung’wah stressed the need for unity among leaders to combat this issue. “Security is a shared responsibility,” he noted.
“We need governors, community leaders, and ordinary citizens to work with the government to stop these criminals. We cannot allow innocent people to live in fear.”
Governor Natembeya has not yet responded to Ichung’wah’s comments. However, his leadership in the affected areas makes his input vital in tackling the situation.
Observers believe that a collaborative approach between the county government and investigative agencies could accelerate the resolution of these cases.
Law enforcement agencies, including the DCI, are already working on the cases. However, their efforts depend heavily on information from the public and local leaders.
Without cooperation, investigations risk being prolonged, giving criminals more opportunities to strike again.
Citizens are also being encouraged to come forward with any information they may have about suspicious activities or individuals.
Security experts believe that community involvement can play a significant role in identifying and apprehending those responsible for the abductions.
