The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has sought to calm fears regarding the delay in releasing the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results.
According to KNEC officials, the results are still within the expected release schedule, despite growing concerns among the public.
The Ministry of Education had initially indicated that the KCSE results would be available in early January 2025.
However, as the days pass without the results being released, many Kenyans and candidates have expressed anxiety over the delay.
Some social media users have even speculated that the results may have been tampered with or manipulated, fueling the sense of uncertainty.
Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, a KNEC official emphasized that there was no cause for concern.
"We are working within the timeframe set by Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, who stated that the results will be out within ten days.
There is no reason for Kenyans to worry; we are on track," the anonymous official said.
The KNEC source further explained that the second week of January had not yet passed, and the results would be released as scheduled.
On January 3, 2025, Education PS Belio Kipsang reaffirmed the commitment to releasing the KCSE results within ten days.
He also dismissed claims that the delay was to allow for manipulation of results in favor of national schools.
The PS assured the public that the examination council was taking enough time to ensure the smooth release of results.
The ongoing anxiety is understandable, as students and parents eagerly await the outcome of the national exams.
However, KNEC has assured that the results will be available by Monday, January 13, 2025, at the latest.
While some individuals have taken to social media to voice their frustrations, others have shared humorous comments about the delay.
Some speculated that the results were “abducted” or “mixed up,” but KNEC maintains that there is no truth to such claims.
As the second week of January progresses, KNEC continues its efforts to finalize the results.
