On Monday, February 3, 2025, the body of an unidentified man was found dumped along Mombasa Road near the Athi River interchange in Kitengela.
The man, believed to be in his early thirties, was discovered shirtless, with his legs tied together using a cloth.
Boda boda operators in the area were the first to spot the body, and they reported that it had likely been dumped recently, as they had not noticed it earlier that morning.
Hussein Khalid, the CEO of Voices Of Community Activists and Leaders of Africa (VOCAL Africa), confirmed the discovery of the body and quickly dispatched his team to the scene.
According to Khalid, the local boda boda riders indicated that the body had been placed at the location sometime after the early hours of the morning.
The man’s appearance suggested he had been left there under suspicious circumstances.
A video shared by Khalid from the scene revealed the gruesome details of the man’s condition.
His legs appeared to have been bound tightly, and there was a visible cut on one of his legs.
Khalid's team, alongside police officers and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), immediately processed the scene.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the body has been collected and transferred to the morgue for further examination.
The discovery of the man’s body comes in the wake of a series of similar unsettling events.
Just days earlier, the bodies of two men linked to the Mlolongo abductions were found in different locations.
These abductions had sparked widespread concern over the rising insecurity in the area.
The families of the missing men were still in the process of identifying their relatives' remains through DNA testing.
While details of the Kitengela man's identity remain unclear, the growing number of mysterious deaths and abductions in the region has intensified calls for improved security measures.
Locals are anxiously awaiting further investigations from authorities, hoping for answers that could shed light on these alarming incidents.
