Kenyan content creator and YouTuber, Commentator, has decided to take a break from his popular live show, The Weekend Warm Up, due to ongoing mental health and financial challenges.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, he opened up about the struggles he has faced in recent months, explaining that producing the show had become more difficult than ever.
"You know, doing a live show requires a team and equipment. But it’s been hard.
The budget for new cameras and other tools is really high, and I’ve been struggling to keep up," he said in the post.
Commentator shared that despite his best efforts, the expenses kept piling up.
The high cost of hiring equipment and bringing in a crew has affected his ability to keep the show going at the level he envisioned.
The challenges didn't stop there. "The location for the shoots is far for many guests, and not everyone can afford to take an Uber all the way to Two Rivers," he explained.
Because of this, Commentator had to dig into his own pockets to cover transportation costs for some of the guests.
"It was tough to ask for help. But as a businessman, sometimes you have to make sacrifices to keep things running," he added.
Despite these challenges, Commentator expressed his commitment to the work he loves, saying, "I’m not giving up, but I need to focus on my health.
Sometimes life gets tough, and it’s okay to step back for a bit."
He reassured his fans that this was just a pause, not an end to his career.
His decision to take a break, he said, was not about quitting, but rather about recognizing the need to take care of himself during a difficult time.
Commentator also shared his concerns about the reaction he might face for sharing his struggles.
"I know some people might criticize me for being honest, but I want them to understand that this is a real situation," he said.
However, his vulnerability sparked a wave of support from his followers.
Many fans took to the comments to encourage him, with one fan writing, "We appreciate you and the work you’ve done. Take your time, and we’ll be here when you’re ready."
