Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has called for a major political shift in Kenya, urging leaders to abandon divisive politics and focus on national unity and good governance.
Speaking after a high-profile meeting with representatives from various political parties, Kioni emphasized the need for leaders to embrace integrity, accountability, and people-driven leadership.
The meeting brought together officials from Jubilee Party, Safina Party, Ford People, Ubuntu Party, Universal Unity Party, People’s Party of Kenya, Agano Party, National Ordinary People Empowerment Union, and Patriot Party.
Kioni expressed concerns over Kenya’s current political landscape, saying that dishonesty and political betrayal have hindered the country’s progress for too long.
According to him, it is time for leaders to shift their focus from personal and party interests to the well-being of the people.
“This is a moment of awakening for all of us,” he said.
“Kenya needs a rebirth—a political culture where democracy is strengthened, institutions are protected, and leadership is centred on the people’s welfare.”
He added that Kenyans are growing tired of politics driven by self-interest and conflict.
Instead, the country needs leaders who are committed to long-term solutions that will benefit future generations.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed key national issues and agreed on the importance of collaboration over conflict.
They pledged to support policies that uplift ordinary citizens and strengthen institutions.
Kioni stressed that unity is not just a political slogan but a necessity for Kenya’s future.
He urged leaders to abandon short-term political strategies that serve individual ambitions and instead focus on long-term policies that benefit all Kenyans.
“We must change the way we do politics in this country,” he said.
“It is no longer about who wins or loses an election. It is about ensuring that the people we serve have a better future.”
As part of their resolutions, the leaders promised to advocate for justice, fairness, and opportunities for all Kenyans.
While they acknowledged that challenges lie ahead, they expressed optimism that Kenya’s potential is limitless if leaders work together.
“This is not just about politics; it is about the future of our nation,” Kioni stated.
“We have a duty to build a Kenya that is fair, just, and full of opportunity for every citizen.”
