The community of St. Mary’s Girls Tachasis in Nandi County is in mourning following a tragic road accident that claimed the life of a Form Four student.
The accident, which occurred at the notorious Chepsangor blackspot, involved 19 students, with 18 surviving with injuries.
The victim, identified as Sharon Jesang, was a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate.

According to reports, the students were traveling in a vehicle when the driver lost control, causing it to veer off the road.
The injured students were rushed to Nandi Hills and Kapsabet hospitals for treatment. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
Geoffrey Birgen, one of the people who shared the sad news, confirmed that 18 students survived but were injured.
He also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Sharon, describing her as a bright student with a promising future.
