Martha Karua, the leader of the NARC Kenya party, has spoken about the recent discussions between President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Karua confirmed that Raila informed her and other opposition leaders about the talks, but she chose not to be involved.
"Raila told us about his discussions with President Ruto, but I did not want to get involved or join them," Karua stated firmly.
Her decision has surprised many, as she has been one of the strongest critics of the Kenya Kwanza government.
Karua has often accused President Ruto’s administration of failing to deliver on its promises and leading the country in the wrong direction.
Many expected her to support Raila in the talks, but she chose a different path.
Karua is known for standing firm on her principles.
She has always advocated for justice, democracy, and the rule of law.
According to her, any political discussions should focus on benefiting ordinary Kenyans, not just politicians.
"I believe that any discussions or agreements should focus on improving the lives of citizens rather than benefiting a few political leaders," she said.
Her decision to stay out of the talks has sparked mixed reactions.
Some people support her position, saying she is staying true to her beliefs.
Others believe she should have joined the discussions to represent the opposition’s interests.
Despite not participating in the talks, Karua has not made it clear whether she will continue working with Raila Odinga in the future.
However, she has promised to keep fighting for truth and justice in the country.
"I will always stand for the truth and fight for the rights of Kenyans," Karua assured.
Many Kenyans are now watching closely to see what will happen next.
Will the talks between Raila and Ruto lead to real change?
Will Karua and other opposition leaders continue to stand apart? These are the questions that remain unanswered.
